The Healthy Children’s Centre Programme
The Healthy Children’s Centre Programme (HCCP) supports children’s centre staff and health professionals to work together to provide high quality services to support young children and their families’ health and wellbeing.
Achieving Healthy Children’s Centre status recognises a children’s centre’s ability to support a wide range of health topics through collaborative working between a range of professionals.
Children’s centres working within the programme audit their provision according to the Healthy Children’s Centre health standards. This helps to identify gaps in provision and good practice.
We have just completed a very successful pilot of the programme which involved Woking, Dovers Green, Loseley Fields and Riverview Children’s Centres. All these centres have now achieved their Healthy Children Centre status and have been presented with their award.
