Procurement advice for schools
PE and school sport budget

There was fantastic news for PE and school sport in the March budget. The treasury statement outlined that the dedicated PE and school sport premium funding will be doubled from £160m to £320m a year from September 2017.

To enable Active Surrey and partners to continue to provide targeted support to schools, we would be grateful if you could complete a short audit to help identify your needs, including teachers training requirements for 2016-17.

Over 150 schools completed the audit last year and said they found it very useful as an internal exercise to track and demonstrate the impact of the primary premium funding.

The audit will enable Active Surrey to:

  • assess the delivery and impact of the Primary PE and sport premium
  • identify any gaps or demands for future provision and support, including teacher training needs
  • contribute valuable information to national Government partners to encourage continued PE and sport premium funding
  • inform the development of services and a sustainable strategy for PE and school sport in Surrey.

The audit needs to be completed by a headteacher, with input from the PE subject lead. It will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Please can you complete this no later than Wednesday 18 May 2016.

To complete the audit please fill out the short survey.

For more information or to access a PDF copy of the audit, please contact Wendy Newton.
