One in ten children and young people in Surrey are affected by mental health problems like depression and anxiety. Feeling Good Week is an annual event to promote positive mental health and raise awareness of the importance of emotional wellbeing.
This year, Feeling Good Week will take place from 17 – 21 June and focus on the theme ‘Together we can’. It will encourage young people to work together, build relationships and share how they’re feeling with one another. Being able to share experiences with others can help encourage positive mental health.
What funding is available?
Schools and organisations working with children and young people up to 18 years old, can apply for a grant funded by Surrey County Council and Surrey Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). This grant can be used to put towards the cost of Feeling Good Week activities and resources.
Organisations working with young people from 11 – 18 years old can apply for a grant for £150. Those working with children and young people up to 11 years old can apply for a grant for £100.
Applying for a grant
Schools and organisations can download an application form from the CAMHS website. All completed applications must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 7 June 2019.
Due to receiving a large number of grant applications each year, only one application can be submitted per organisation. Grants will also be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If successful, grants will be paid after the application deadline.
In June, a Feeling Good Week resource pack will be available to download, filled with ideas and activities will be available to download from the CAMHS website.
