Fire marshall training courses 2016

Although it is not a requirement to have trained fire marshalls, a number of schools have requested this training. Our Fire Safety Advisor, Martin Robinson, will be running two fire marshall training courses.

The first training course will take place on Wednesday 15 June 2015 from 9.30am - 12.30pm. It will be held at County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 2DN.

The second course will be on Friday 14 October 2015 from 1pm - 4pm. It will be held at Surrey History Centre, 130 Goldsoworth Road, Woking, GU21 6ND.

The course will cover:

  • the role of a fire marshall
  • action on discovering a fire
  • fire safety legislation
  • the chemistry of fire
  • common causes of fire
  • fire safety precautions
  • fire drills and evacuation
  • knowing the limitations of the uses of fire extinguisher.

The course will give a good understanding of how to prevent a fire from occurring and a clear knowledge of the role and responsibilities of a fire marshall. It will also equip you with the knowledge of what to do in the event of a fire.

The  training will cost £75.

If you would like to attend the fire marshall training course please complete the attached booking form and return to Christine Nannozi, Room 305, Surrey County Council, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 2DN with your cheque. If you are a Surrey maintained school, you can pay by Journal.
