Fantastic volunteering opportunity at Surrey Libraries

Each summer, young people from across Surrey join us as Summer Reading Challenge volunteers. It is a really fun way to get involved in the community, gain experience and add something impressive to your CV.

The Summer Reading Challenge runs from mid-July to mid-September and encourages primary school aged children to keep reading over the summer holidays. As a volunteer with us, you will be chatting to children, running activities and giving out rewards. It is a busy time of year and staff love working with volunteers to create a fun and lively atmosphere. This year the theme is Space chase, inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

If you are aged between 14-25, a positive and friendly person who likes children and books and are able to spare 10 hours over the summer, apply at www.surreycc.gov.uk/libraryvolunteers.
